Winter Camp Spark – Igniting Knowledge!

MoLab, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, provides dynamic, hands-on, inquiry-based science experiences through a mobile science laboratory that promotes discovery. Winter Camp Spark will offer students 5 years old through the 8th grade the opportunity to participate in art and science activities in a fun, interactive, and safe environment. Each daily session will present campers the opportunity to explore science through creative play and experimentation. The sessions present age appropriate curriculum and are designed to provide students with engaging educational activities that are both informative and entertaining.

Winter Camp Spark will be held at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1700 N. Meridian Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32303.

THEMES
Monday, December 23: Matter Mysteries – Get hands-on and use your observational skills to investigate the properties of matter. Concoct slimy mixtures, use chemistry to create a gas, build an edible molecule model. Anything goes when you’re having fun exploring matter!

Friday, December 27: Adventures in Videogaming – Enjoy a day of scientific discovery with your favorite gaming characters! Engineer a Fortnite inspired tower, create Creeper pixel art, build and race Mario inspired carts, and use chemistry to hatch a Pokeball!

Monday, December 30: Star Wars Science – In a galaxy not-so-far away, campers will use their imagination to explore the science of Star Wars. Make lava slime and rescue Darth Vader, create a droid and get hands on with circuitry, design a space craft, and explore force like a Skywalker!

Tuesday, December 31: NYExperiments! – Celebrate the start to a new year with exciting experiments themed to the holiday! Enjoy firework-like fizzy reactions, construct confetti poppers, design a ball drop, and break out the bubbly dancefloor to say goodbye to 2019 with a bang!

Thursday, January 2: Frozen Physics – Brrr, ‘tis the season to let it go and experiment with chilly, frosty, and freezing things! Explore phase changes, create frozen bubbles and make a quarter sing with dry ice, and concoct your own frozen treat as you discover the science of all things cold!

Friday, January 3: Fantastic Beasts – From Basilisks to Unicorns, campers will delve into the science behind mysterious creatures. Compare Billywigs to beetles during a live encounter, discover what a platypus and a Niffler have in common, and whip up a storm like a Thunderbird. Exploring biology has never been so magical!

Monday, January 6: Spark Smorgasbord – It’s the perfect way to wrap up an exciting session of Camp Spark – with an assortment of your favorite STEAM activities. Enjoy a day of creative experiments in chemistry, physics fun, food science, and more!

Daily Camp fees are $45 per day, which includes lunch and 2 snacks. A discounted rate is available for multiple days and additional siblings.

Extended Camp care is available starting at 7:45 a.m. for $5/day and until 6 p.m. for $5/day.

Camp Spark makes learning fun and links Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) concepts to the real-world.
