This support group is for couples of all types, married or dating, with at least one member diagnosed or characteristic of ASD. Communication and emotional reciprocity are fundamental to a relationship. If a partner affected by Asperger Syndrome is unable to give or understand the need for these basic ingredients, then the relationship is almost certainly going to run into problems.Likewise, expectations of remolding a partner with ASD, or a “neurotypical” partner failing to understand the challenges of an ASD partner will also lead to trouble. The opportunity to connect with other couples who are going through similar experiences can be a valuable form of support. Couples are encouraged to attend this monthly Support Group, which is held (August through May). Those who wish to share or simply listen are invited to attend IMPORTANT: For the months of October and December the event will NOT be the last Thursday of the month.
