FREE Home Buyer's Education Workshop We Invite and Welcome YOU to your Home Buyer's Education Workshop! This class will provide information and education for the Home Buying Process. The Home Buyer's Education Workshop is to provide you with information about being a Home Buyer. Whether you are a First Time Home Buyer, currently Renting or Leasing, and Living with Family & Friends, a repeat Home Buyer, an Investor, or a Second Home Buyer. Come and learn valuable information about Down Payment and Closing Costs Assistance Programs. Upon successful completion of your one on one counseling session and turning in all required documentation, you will receive your Home Buyer Education Certificate, valid for one year. You will learn how to overcome barriers preventing you from homeownership. Topics include: Preparing for Homeownership Credit / Budgeting / Identity Theft Shopping for a Home (Realtor) Available GRANT funds Obtaining a Mortgage (Lender) Closing (Title Company) Homeowners Insurance (Ins. Co) Home Inspection Income Replacement/Protection Developing Additional Income Streams Importance of Fair Housing and Predatory Lending FAQs Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? – All Adults are welcomed. – Please note that Childcare is not available and due to the length of this class, children are not allowed in the workshop. – Each person who attends the workshop must sign in and register. – Please arrive early to allow time for check-in. We are located in the West Regional Library Plantation, on the Second Floor. – There is plenty of parking available. What can I bring into the event? -Bring yourself and a family member and a friend who is interested in buying and owning real estate. – If you have a tendency to be cold, you are encouraged to bring a sweater or light jacket.
