THE QUEEN’S SIX makes its South Florida debut, journeying from their homes within the walls of Windsor Castle. Lay clerks at St. George’s Chapel where they regularly perform eight services a week, they often sing for the Royal family at both private and state occasions. For MMC, they explore music through the ages, from songs written by King Henry VIII to pieces and composers heard at their performance at the recent wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. They'll perform austere early chant, florid Renaissance polyphony, madrigals, haunting folk songs, plus upbeat jazz and pop arrangements. The main Corpus Christi Church is a perfect venue to highlight the supple blend and balance of their voices, what Gramophone describes as “the melodic sense and harmonic direction [that] all indicate … how much this music is in the blood of these singers.” For artist info, please visit: thequeenssix.co.uk Children are welcome.
