Stu Fuchs (aka "Stukulele") is a Grammy-nominated, internationally touring ukulele artist based in Vermont – HE IS THRILLED to be returning to visit the wonderful Ukulele community of the greater Orlando area! This event takes place THURS 11/7/2019 from 6:00pm-9:00pm and is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC The theme of this workshop is to gather players to create a pop up ensemble of Ukulele Band Arrangements. Youll have a great time strumming fun songs from many music styles, and learn to pick melodies & simple riffs too. Through the vehicle of these arrangements, Stu will offer his celebrated holistic music teachings on rhythm, strumming, picking plus GREAT practice tips of "Ukulele Zen" to make your ukulele playing easier & your music journey even more satisfying! This session is for ALL LEVELS of player (Some basic ukulele experience strumming basic chords is recommended). There will be parts for ALL levels of player, beginner to advanced. Following the workshop there will be time to meet Stu and ask questions and enjoy a special solo concert – You'll hear dazzling instrumentals, Stu's original songs, stories and a few surprises too! Stuart is passionate about sharing music as a practice for self-care & wellness and keeps a busy schedule as a teaching artist for the global ukulele circuit, in school residencies and holistic retreat centers. Stuart blends mindfulness and music at his annual Ukulele Zen retreat held at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY – his YouTube channel Ukulele Zen offers weekly ukulele lessons and inspiration to over 40,000 subscribers. Fuchs, an accomplished guitarist in many styles, has arranged and performed the gypsy jazz guitar music of Django Reinhardt with his award winning gypsy jazz band Babik. In 2014 Stuart was awarded a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts for his work bringing healing music to cancer patients at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo NY, where he was a professional artist in residence for eight years. Stuart has toured to three continents as a soloist and as guitarist with the internationally acclaimed new age Kirtan artist Snatam Kaur.
