3D Modeling 101 – In Fusion 360

LEARN TO CREATE A 3D OBJECT This class is open to anybody who seeks to learn the basics of creating a 3D model. It is a simple introduction, specifically in Fusion 360, a free "solid modeler." This hands-on class will introduce you to computer aided design (CAD), where you will model a simple object and be shown how it can be output to various technologies (3D printing, lasering, CNCing, water jetting, and plasma jetting). No previous modeling experience is necessary, but a familiarity of getting around in an interface is required. Class/Equipment Requirements The student must provide their own computer, along with Fusion 360 already installed (free to students, and start-ups under $100K/yr). Please contact Swami (Swami.human@gmail.com) for further instructions regarding computer requirements for the download, after you have signed up for the class. Don't wait for the last minute. Six (6) students maximum for the class. Delta Maker Printers About the Teacher: "SWAMI" has infinite curiosity and a drive to share. He joined Factur in 2016 and got trapped in the 3D Printing Room! Then he escaped into the Laser Room. And, now has his eyes set on CNCing. Academically, he was trained as an electrical engineer with an emphasis on computers and robotics. Professionally, he was involved in many aspects of 3D: modeling/animating, programming, teaching, etc. Currently, he is a math tutor, and consultant helping various people on various projects. If parking is unavailable in the front, you may park in the back on Brookhaven, between the wrestling gym and the cross-fit gym. Clothing Restrictions? Dress is casual Questions? We need to know in advance as to whether we must cancel the event, due to lack of interest. Therefore, you must cancel 7 days prior to the event to receive a full refund. However, based on the number of people in the class, we reserve the right to cancel a class at any time. You will receive a full refund within 5-7 days of cancellation notice, depending on your bank. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No. You will need to sign in, however. Can I update my registration information? Yes Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Yes. If you find that you cannot make the date and time of the class you signed up for, you may transfer into another class, if available. The transfer must take place 3 days before the class begins.
