The highlight of Greater Fort Lauderdale's winter will be the 48th Annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade, one of the top 20 parades in the world and the 7th largest one-day spectator event in the country taking place December 14. This year's ultimate light show extravaganza with hundreds of brightly lit and decorated boats and yachts as they cruise from the Fort Lauderdale's downtown New River on a 12-mile route along the Intracoastal Waterway to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach. This year, the greatest show on H2O theme will be "Lights, Camera, Action … Movies on Parade." Along with the free viewing areas and Winterfest's Grandstand Viewing Area; Various Restaurants and Hotels such as the Riverside Hotel, Shooters, Blue Moon, Doubletree sell viewing packages (https://winterfestparade.com/where-to-eat-where-to-stay) IF YOU PURCHASE TICKETS ($20-$25) ON THE WINTERFEST.COM WEBSITE TO VIEW THE PARADE AT THE GRANDSTAND AREA  HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO ENJOY YOUR PARADE VIEWING EXPERIENCE inside Hugh Taylor Birch State Park (remember, there is a fee to view from this area/tickets are for sale $20-$25):  For your safety. In order to help protect our valued guests, Winterfest will conduct searches of bags at our entrances, as a condition of entry onto the viewing area. Expect to walk through metal detectors and/or wants, so empty your person of metal objects. Winterfest DOES NOT allow the following items to be brought onto the area: 1. Firearms/weapons; 2. Explosive devices/fireworks; 3. Alcoholic beverages; 4. SELFIE STICKS; 5. Drones; 6. Any other item deemed to be a danger to others. Chairs, Coolers, Blankets, etc. are NOT allowed in the Grandstand Viewing Area – but can be utilized outside of our viewing area within the park. Check the weather. South Florida weather in December is world-famous for its balmy, tropical conditions, but can change quickly. Check ahead on whether you need to bring sunscreen, a hat, a sweater, or a poncho. The area opens at 3:30 p.m. with live entertainment, activities as well as food and beverages for sale. Parking. There is no parking inside Birch State Park for the Parade. The ONLY Shuttle service will be offered at one convenient Fort Lauderdale location: Galleria Mall (East Sunrise Boulevard). Parking is FREE and bus service is $5 per person round-trip and is non-refundable. Children under 3 years old ride free.  Tram service inside the Park. Complimentary and regularly scheduled tram service is available traveling thru the Park and is easily accessible if you walk into Hugh Taylor Birch State Park from the Sunrise Boulevard. Remember, there is NO PARKING in Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Please leave pets at home. Pets are not permitted in the Park. Do not leave them in your vehicle. Only service/assistance dogs and seeing eye dogs are allowed within the Parade viewing area. Remember, the Parade has fireworks. Bring your camera. The Parade and Grandstand Viewing Area will have plenty of snapshot opportunities. Remember to upload your photos to social media with the hashtag #WinterfestFL Credit cards & ATM’s. MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover are accepted at designated ATM machines. Check with Guest Services for more information. Diaper-changing. Facilities are located in the permanent restrooms within the Park. Remember your medication. If you have a medical condition that requires medication, be sure to bring what you need with you. Parade Entry List. The Winterfestparade.com website and the Winterfest app will have a list of Parade Entries. Many of the photo images will be uploaded approximately an hour prior to you viewing the Parade. Lost? Please seek assistance at Guest Services booth regarding lost children. When you get to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park / Grandstand Viewing Area, it’s a good idea to select a meeting place in the event your party becomes separated. Lost & Found Items. If you’ve lost an item during your visit, all unattended property will be safely placed in the Guest Services booth. Bring your appetite. The Grandstand Viewing Area has a festival atmosphere with food and drinks available for purchase. Wash your Hands! Prevent disease!  Please wash your hands thoroughly after visiting the animals and assist your children in washing their hands. Have a blast! The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade is the “Greatest Show on H2O,” one of the oldest holiday traditions in our community and the 7th Largest Spectator Event in the Country.
