The Palm Beach County Optometric Association is pleased to host our 2020 Palm Beach Winter Seminar at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Friday February 7th through Sunday February 9th, 2020 The schedule for this year's seminar will include education hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After class, enjoy relaxing with colleagues at our Friday evening social. We will also host our traditional Golf Tournament Friday afternoon. We will feature another world class lineup of speakers along with 20 CE hours, including 8 hours of Transcript Quality education as well as the required Medical Errors and Florida Jurisprudence courses. FAQs When does the Biennium end? This is a new Biennium which runs through February 28th, 2021, so this year's Palm Beach Winter Seminar is a mid-biennium conference. Although you have another year to obtain your required CE hours, why wait? Get your hours now and avoid that last minute mad rush next year. Can I register onsite? Yes, onsite registration is available and there is an additional Pay At the Door fee of $50. ***Please note that online registration endson Thursday February 6th at 7am.*** What time do I need to be there? When will classes end? Classes begin at 8am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Registration opens at 7am and breakfast is available each morning inside the exhibit hall. Classes end around 5 on Friday and Saturday, and there is a buffet lunch provided both days. On Sunday, classes are from 8am – 2 pm (really finishing at 1:40ish). There will be breakfast provided, but no lunch on Sunday. Course Handouts Handouts will be electronic once again this year. Please bring a laptop or tablet to access course materials. We are pleased that we are able to offer free WiFi in the lecture hall this year. For those of you who prefer paper, we are happy to provide printed notes for you for a nominal charge. What is the refund policy? There is an administrative fee of $50.00 for all cancellations prior to January 24th, 2020. We are unable to offer refunds after January 24th. How do I book a room at the resort? Please call resort reservations at 855-350-6809 and mention you are with PBCOA Winter Seminar. Our current group rate is $269 per night. Rooms are limited so if you plan to stay, make reservations soon. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Parking is available at no charge in the garage across from the hotel. Overnight self-parking fees have been waived. Valet parking is available for $15 per vehicle per night. For our out of state attendees, Palm Beach International (PBI) is the most convenient airport. Palm Beach International (PBI): 21 miles, approximately 30 minutes Fort Lauderdale International (FLL): 68 miles, approximately 75 minutes Miami International (MIA): 89 miles, approximately 97 minutes I'm a Florida doctor who took the 20 hour Orals Course. Does that count for my TQ (transcript quality) requirements? No, you can receive 20 general CE hours for the Orals Course on a one-time-only basis. You will still need to take 6 hours of TQ as well as 2 hours of Florida Jurisprudence and 2 hours of Medical Errors in the biennium that you take the 20 hours course. If you used those hours for a previous biennium you will need your full 30 hours for this current biennium.
