Working Towards a Better Community
Here at Bonny's Mission, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2020, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Non-Profit Organization upon; Provide, Support, and Help.

Welcome to an organization that listens when no one listens. That cares when no one cares. That protects when there's no protection. And that provides hope when all hope seems to be lost. Our job is to help children and their families get back on track—because everyone deserves the chance to shine.
The Florida Keys Children's Shelter is more than just a place to stay. Our extensive programs—both residential and non-residential—have helped and counseled thousands of children and families in their time of need since 1985. We're dedicated to providing the best possible solutions for abused, abandoned or neglected children; and children that have run away, are truants, or are considered ungovernable by their parents.
Our services are provided at no charge. We receive funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, the Florida Department of Children and Families and Monroe County (FL) Human Services. We depend largely on private donations, including United Way.
FKCS is a local, private 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. All financial contributions support programming and services in Monroe County.

With the rising costs of housing, healthcare, (cost of) food, and childcare along with many other basic living expenses, many in the Florida Keys find themselves not even living paycheck-to-paycheck.
On any given day in Monroe County, there are men, women, and children who are homeless, living and sleeping in the street, the mangroves, vehicles, derelict vessels, or other inappropriate and dangerous places. Most of them lack not only housing but also social services to assist with adequate nutrition, medical attention, and personal hygiene facilities.
Sadly, there are many more who live in constant risk of hunger and homelessness. They know that even one missed day of work, an unexpected accident or illness, or unplanned expense can cause them to become homeless.
Fortunately, there is help. The Florida Keys Outreach Coalition offers both hope and solutions. Incorporated with non-profit status in 1992, FKOC provides homeless prevention and shelter with essential supportive services throughout Monroe County, Florida.
FKOC offers solution-oriented services that prevent homelessness from occurring with quick interventions that stop the tumble into homelessness. When homelessness has already occurred, FKOC offers effective multi-stage housing programs that encourage self-sufficiency, stability, and opportunity.

The Florida Keys SPCA is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of all animals through compassionate care, adoption, education, population control and humane law enforcement.
We are a completely independent, private, not-for-profit organization and are not funded by, any other state or national humane organization. Monroe County funds a contract for FKSPCA to provide animal control services in our jurisdiction, yet for additional community services we provide, we rely on grants, fundraising and donations from supporters like you to help us provide a high standard of care for our animals.

OUR MISSON
Key West and Lower Keys Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
WHAT WE DO
Habitat for Humanity builds and repairs houses using volunteer labor and donations. Our partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods.
FOCUS ON SHELTER
We have chosen to create opportunities for all people to live in decent, durable shelter. We put faith into action by helping to build, renovate or preserve homes, and by partnering with others to accelerate and broaden access to affordable housing as a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty.
ADVOCATE FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING
We promote decent, affordable housing for all, and we support the global community’s commitment to housing as a basic human right. We will advocate for just and fair housing policy to eliminate the constraints that contribute to poverty housing. And, in all of our work, we will seek to put shelter on hearts and minds in such powerful ways that poverty housing becomes socially, politically and religiously unacceptable.
PROMOTE DIGNITY AND HOPE
We believe that no one lives in dignity until everyone can live in dignity. We believe that every person has something to contribute and something to gain from creating communities in which all people have decent, affordable places to live. We believe that dignity and hope are best achieved through equitable, accountable partnerships.
SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE AND TRANSFORMATION DEVELOPMENT
We view our work as successful when it transforms lives and promotes positive and lasting social, economic and spiritual change within a community; when it is based on mutual trust and fully shared accomplishment; and when it demonstrates responsible stewardship of all resources entrusted to us.
