The Florida Swamp Dogs will have their first public show on Dec. 11. They are hosting the annual Christmas Party on the Bay at Hooked Island Grill in Matlacha and it will be a benefit for the Pine Island Food Pantry. We have had this event for the past several years. We will try to fill a small row boat full of stuff for the pantry. The food pantries are always depleted around the holidays so please open your heart, get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy the beautiful view of Matlacha Pass. We will be collecting non perishable food to donate to the Pine Island Food Pantry. There'll be raffles and drink and food specials, too, some original art work by local artist Diane “Greenwoman” Wickes. Everyone that donates food, supplies or money gets raffle tickets. For those in need of temporary assistance with food. The Pine Island Pantry can supply several days worth of meals to those who qualify. The Pantry is located at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medial Catholic Church 12175 Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia We also invite any local musicians to join us and sing a Christmas song or two.
